Hobnob biscuits are a traditional British
type of oat biscuit similar to Anzac biscuits.
Ingredients
makes 30 biscuits
150g self raising flour
120g rolled oats
150g caster sugar
1 level teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
150g butter
1 tbls golden syrup (40g)
Method
Preheat oven to 180ÂșC normal bake. Place
flour, oats, sugar and soda in a bowl and combine. Place butter and golden
syrup in a saucepan and heat gently until the butter is melted. Take the pan
off the heat. Add liquid mixture to the dry ingredient mixture and blend until
combined. Make small size balls and place on a baking paper lined trays.
Flatten the balls with your hand. Bake for approx. 10 minutes. Allow cooling
before placing the biscuits in a container and store covered in the pantry.
Note: Try adding other ingredients such as raisins, sultanas and mixed
nuts.
