Garlic and Herb Croutons

Croutons are crispy bread cubes and essential to many dishes such as Caesar salad.


Ingredients serve 4

3 slices of square white bread
40 g olive oil
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp mixed dried herbs

Method

Preheat oven to 180° C normal bake. Blend oil, garlic and herbs evenly in a bowl.  Cut the crust off the bread and discard. Cut the bread in small cubes and place in the bowl with the oil mix. Blend until equally coated and place evenly on a flat oven tray. Place the tray with the bread cubes in the oven and bake until crispy and lightly brown approx. 10 minutes. Allow cooling before placing croutons in a closed container until needed.


Note: You can also make these croutons on a frying pan over medium heat.
