Panini Sandwich

Panini is a sandwich made with a piece of Italian style bread cut in half horizontally and sandwiched together with filling of your choice.

Method

Split Panini bread in half horizontal and brush or drizzle each half with olive oil. Place the fillings on the bottom half of the bread such as Italian cold meats, cheeses, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, peppers or pimientos. Place the top half of the bread on the filling and cut into four pieces. Place in a sandwich grill or under the grill in the oven and cook until the filling is warm and the bread golden brown. Remove from the grill and serve immediately.

Note: If Panini bread is unavailable use other Italian style bread such as Ciabatta or Poolish pan bread.
