These savoury scones are perfect as a snack inbetween meals.
Ingredients make 15
425 g self raising flour
10 g salt
2 tsp cracked black pepper
75 g butter
300 g milk
150 g soft cooked onion
150 g diced feta
100 g cooked and finely chopped chicken breast
Method
Preheat oven to 200ÂșC fan forced (220C normal bake). Place
flour, pepper and salt in a bowl. Cut butter in small cubes and rub into the
flour mix with your hands. Place milk, onion, feta and chicken in a separate
bowl and combine. Add this mixture to the flour mix and combine with a scraper
or hands. Place the dough on a workbench dusted with flour and roll or press
out to a thickness of approx 25mm. Cut scones with a cutter 5 cm. in diameter.
Place on lightly greased flat baking tray and bake in the oven approx 12 min.
Note: Substitute
feta with shredded cheddar or parmesan cheese.
