Tuna Cheese Dill and Black Sesame Seed Scones

These savoury scones have a predominant tuna flavour.

Ingredients make 17 scones

500 g self raising flour
1 tsp cracked lemon pepper
8 g salt
100 g butter
300 g milk
250 g tinned tuna
50 g shredded cheese
3 g dill finely chopped
25 g black sesame seed

Method

Preheat oven to 200ºC fan forced (220C normal bake). Place flour, pepper and salt into a bowl. Cut butter in small cubes and rub into the flour mix with your hands. Combine milk, tuna, cheese, dill and sesame seed in another bowl. Add this mix to the flour and combine. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and pat the dough into a 3 cm thickness. Cut the scones with a 5cm scone cutter and transfer to a lightly floured tray or baking paper lined tray with space in between. Bake for approx 12 min. until golden brown on top.

Note: Substitute black sesame seeds with poppy seeds.
