Strawberry and White Chocolate Scones

These sweet chocolate scones have the addition of freshly chopped strawberries.

Ingredients make 14

400 g self raising flour
100 g caster sugar
5 g salt
130 g butter
270 g milk
130 g finely chopped strawberries
130 g white chocolate finely chopped

Method

Preheat oven to 200ºC fan forced (220C normal bake). Place flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Cut butter into small cubes and rub into the flour mix with your hands. In another bowl combine chocolate, milk and strawberries add this mix to the flour and combine. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and pat the dough into a 3 cm thickness. Cut the scones with a 5cm scone cutter and transfer to a lightly floured tray or baking paper lined tray with space in between. Bake for approx 12 min. until golden brown on top. Dust with icing sugar.

Note: Try other fruit instead of strawberries such as raspberries, blackberries or blueberries.
