Wholemeal Damper

This is a wholesome quick bread with an exquisite nutty flavour using wholemeal flour and is best eaten thinly sliced.

Ingredients

800 g Wholemeal flour
2 tbls baking powder (30g)
1 tsp salt
600 g milk

Method

Preheat oven to 190°C. Place flour, baking powder, salt and milk in a bowl and blend. Mix with your hand until dough forms and shape into a round ball. Place on a baking tray dusted with flour and cut the damper into 12 pieces with a sharp knife. Dust the top of the damper with flour and bake in the oven for approx. 45 minutes.

Note: This damper is best eaten when it completely cooled.
