Fudge Brownies

Brownies are usually a chocolate cake made without baking powder and served as a dessert with ice cream, custard or cream. Nevertheless they are also enjoyed as a snack anytime. This brownie is really delightful, moist and easy to make.

Ingredients 15 slices

1½ cup brown sugar (310 g)
185 g unsalted butter
3 eggs (150 ml)
¾ cup plain flour (125 g)
3 tbls cocoa powder (25 g)
90 g walnuts

Method

Preheat oven to 180ºC.
Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time and mix evenly.
Fold flour and cocoa powder in the mix.
Chop the walnut and mix in.
Place the mixture on a 19 x 29 cm. baking tray lined with baking paper.
Bake on 180ºC for approx. 25 min.
Glaze with chocolate and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
Cut the brownies into slices and store covered in the fridge.

Note: Serve warm with ice cream and fruit for dessert. Substitute brown sugar with castor sugar for a chewy brownie and it is very important to avoid overcooking.
