Maple and Pecan Scones

These scones are excellent for breakfast.


Ingredients make 15 scones

500 g self raising flour
10 g salt
100 g cold unsalted butter
225 ml milk
200 g maple syrup,
170 g chopped roasted pecans

Method


Preheat oven to 200º C fan forced (220º C normal bake). Place flour and salt in a bowl and rub butter into the flour mix with your hands. In another bowl combine milk, maple syrup and pecans. Add this mix to the flour and combine with a scraper or hands. Place on a workbench dusted with flour and roll or press out to a thickness of approx 25mm. Cut scones with a 5 cm. round cutter. Place on lightly greased flat baking tray. Bake in the oven approx 12 min. Dust with icing sugar.

Note: Try adding other ingredients such as apple and cinnamon.
