Chocolate Syrup

This chocolate syrup is excellent with ice cream or to use in drinks such as cocktails, smoothies or milkshakes.


Ingredients

½ cup (60 g) cocoa powder
1 cup (220 g) caster sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 cup water (250 ml)
2 tsp vanilla extract

Method

Place all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to the boil while stirring with a whisk. Allow boiling for approx. 3 minutes while stirring. Allow cooling before poring into containers, store the syrup in the fridge.


Note: This portion makes 1 cup syrup and I used unsweetened cocoa powder.
