These scones have excellent flavour combination with banana,
toasted nuts and chocolate.
Ingredients make 18
550 g self raising flour
100 g caster sugar
10 g salt
100 g butter
200 g banana puree
270 g milk
135 g finely chopped toasted pecan
170 g finely chopped milk chocolate
Method
Preheat oven to 200ºC fan forced (220C normal bake). Place
flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Cut butter in small cubes and rub into the
flour mix with your hands. In another bowl combine banana puree, milk, pecan
and milk choc. Add this blend to the flour mixture and combine. Place the dough
on a workbench dusted with flour and roll or press out to a thickness of approx
25 mm. Cut scones with a cutter 5 cm. in diameter and place on lightly greased
flat baking tray. Bake in the oven approx 12 min. and dust with icing sugar.
Note: Try with
white or dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate
