French Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate can be made using different methods this is the classic technique.


Ingredients serve 4

360 ml milk
45 g sugar
55 g chopped dark chocolate
225 ml cream

Method

Pour the milk, sugar and chocolate into a saucepan. Place on low heat until chocolate is melted while stirring. Keep heating while stirring until just before boiling. Whisk the cream until soft peak and blend into the chocolate. Divide the hot chocolate evenly between 4 cups and serve.


Note: I used dark bitter chocolate for this hot chocolate but you can use semi sweet and omit the sugar.
