Fudge is a soft, finely grained candy made from sugar syrup, cream, and butter. Making sure the sugar forms small fine crystals is essential to producing the right texture. Most traditional fudge recipes require patience, timing and quick action to produce the right sized crystals. This recipe produces a confection that looks like fudge and tastes like fudge. This is an extremely quick method to make sweets at home and people with a sweet tooth will love the result.
Ingredients
1 tin condensed milk (395 g)
500 g chocolate
60 g unsalted butter
20 ml vanilla essence
Method
Place all ingredients in a bowl and heat up a little at a time to approx. 50ÂșC in the microwave and stir in between. Pour the smooth mixture in a 20 cm square cake tin lined with baking paper or food wrap. Place in the fridge for approx. 4 hours.
Take the fudge out of the tin and remove the paper or wrap. Cut the fudge in small bite sizes pieces and put in a container. The fudge pieces can be dipped in chocolate and drizzled with, nuts, sprinkles or coconut.
Note: I used dark chocolate but you can also use milk or white. If you don’t have a microwave, heat the mixture up in a Bain Marie.
