These slices tastes like a pleasant blend
of banana cake and brownies.
Ingredients
make 16 brownies
115 g butter
¼ tsp mixed spice
150 g brown sugar
2 eggs (100g)
60 g melted and cooled dark chocolate
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 mashed ripe bananas (200g)
140 g self raising flour
115 g chopped walnuts
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C normal bake.
Grease and line a 18 x 28 cm tin with baking paper. Place soft butter, mixed
spice and sugar in a mixing bowl, whisk with an electrical mixer for approx. 5
minutes until creamy. Add eggs one at a time and mix evenly. Add melted dark
chocolate and vanilla into the mixture. Blend the mashed bananas into the mix.
Add flour and walnuts, and spread the batter uniformly into the prepared tin.
Place in the middle of the oven and bake for approx. 40 minutes. Allow cooling
before cutting into 16 slices. Store brownies in a closed container in the
fridge.
Note: If you are using unsalted butter add ¼ tsp salt.
